Carol Ann Pitcairn, daughter of James and Dianne Pitcairn of Ellsworth, and Edgar Joel Castaneda Castaneda, son of Landelino Castaneda Martinez and Mirian Florandina Castaneda of Guatemala, were married on April 22, 2017. The bilingual ceremony was held at Crossroads Community Baptist Church in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Pastors Adrian Lioi and Kevin Richardson officiated the ceremony. The bride was given away by her father, and the couple were attended by family and friends: bridesmaids (Lisa Pitcairn, Katherine Cole, Lupita Avina, Amanda Hodge, and Sara Schill) and groomsmen (Efrain Avina, William Tobar, Salvador Sanchez, Josh Fowler, and Vinicius Rodrigues). Carol Ann earned her Bachelor's degrees from Youngstown State University and her doctorate from the University of Michigan, where she is currently employed as a lecturer in the Department of Chemistry. Edgar, a leader in their church, and Carol Ann, active in college ministry, met in Ann Arbor, where they both continue to be active in their church community. Following their honeymoon in Hocking Hills, the couple resides in Ypsilanti, Michigan.
