Wedding-Day Weather

Absolutely perfect summer day with a light breeze

The theme was an Italian garden wedding inspired by the bride having visited Italy numerous times and studying in Siena. The Italian culture is very important to her, both personally because of her heritage and professionally, as an Italian language teacher. At the reception, tables were in long rows featuring lush floral garlands, as they do in Italy. Twinkle lights covered the dance floor to give the feel and look of being under the stars. Bistro lighting on the balcony lent the air of an outdoor Italian trattoria.

Bride and bridesmaids carried bright summer floral bouquets featuring snapdragons and succulents, highlighted by raspberry-colored dahlias. Boutonnieres featured succulents with small raspberry flowers. Flower girls carried a lush garland of greens and summer flowers.

Favorite Detail

The DJs played The Beatles' "Hey, Jude" as the last song of the night and everyone made a huge circle on the dance floor and sang all the words. It was magical! Also having the bride's relatives come over from Italy to be there for our wedding and when they and our Canadian relatives sang along to all the Italian songs the strolling musicians played!

First Dance

"I Won't Give Up" by Jason Mraz

Three-tiered white cake with caramel filling and an amazing cookie selection baked by friends
