We got very lucky with upper 70's and sunny with a nice breeze.
We went with the modern-rustic theme. Our colors were navy blue and sunflowers with an incorporation of burlap and ivory.
All of our bouquets were made by the bride's aunt which included real sunflowers and a mixture of baby's breath and some other decorative accents, all tied with burlap and straw. The mothers of the bride and groom had their small bouquets wrapped with their own embroidered handkerchiefs.
We both loved our first dance but also agree that overall the best part was having our loved ones in the same room and enjoying each others company. The groom had many relatives from out of town in attendance that we don't usually get to see, so it was extra special.
James Arthur's Say You Won't Let Go
We had the traditional Youngstown cookie table that was blessed with homemade cookies from both of our aunts. It included a variation of Italian wedding cookies, farmhouse chocolate chip, and even some decorative sunflower cutouts. The bride and groom had a small cake (chocolate-banana) that sat atop a tower of beautiful cupcakes also gifted from the bride's aunt and a family friend.
Our favors to our guests included small treat bags for them to pick out any leftover cookies as well as packets of sunflower seeds, suggesting that they each take a packet and watch love grow!
DJ Dickdrum did an outstanding job entertaining our guests and keeping our transitions smooth.
Aulizio's Catering in Warren, Ohio provided amazing service and a great package for the reception. Our guests genuinely enjoyed the food!
Ceremony Musicians - String Theory Guitars (Absolutely breathtaking)
Cake - Dutch Haus provided us with just what we needed and it was cheap!
Photographer - Angie Marie Photography out of Akron. She provided an amazing service and we couldn't be happier with how our pictures are turning out.
If We Knew Then What We Know Now
Pace yourself and plan a little bit at a time. Also, make sure you budget for the small things that can become a small issue later.
We got engaged in October 2015 so we knew our honeymoon would be a YSU away game that we otherwise wouldn't have the time or money to attend. We celebrated early with the amazing opportunity to attend the championship game in Frisco, Texas!
